Palisade Plunge
Lake Austin
This project exemplifies the challenges and rewards of building a custom pool in Austin. The site presented several complexities, including a sloped lot, utility clearances, and a permitting process that required careful navigation with the City. Working within these constraints, we designed and built a 16-foot by 17-foot pool that balances function, beauty, and family-friendly design.
The pool features an attached flush spa for year-round relaxation, as well as a sun shelf that serves both as a lounging area and a shallow splash zone for children. The raised beam doubles as a retaining wall, integrating three scuppers that provide both an elegant aesthetic and the soothing sound of moving water.
Material selections were made to enhance the overall character of the pool. The interior finish is a midnight blue mini-pebble plaster, paired with Iron Ore waterline and spillway tile from Fireclay. Locally crafted precast concrete coping in Rice White adds a refined edge detail that ties the design together.
Beyond the finishes, the pool is equipped with an automation panel, a saltwater chlorine generator, and a natural gas heater to ensure ease of use and year-round enjoyment.
For this Austin family, the pool is more than just an outdoor feature. It creates a safe, convenient, and inviting space to cool off during our hot summers and a relaxing retreat that can be enjoyed in every season.
